Russell Miller (Niagara Falls, Canada) made the Coot canopy according to some sketches I drew for him. (He had manufactured the hull for me in 1972.) By extending the rear canopy forward, and by sloping the front canopy back from a spot very close to the instrument panel, the front section shown here could be split to open like a Lake amphibian. This was very light and simple, and it would never open during flight, but it did let in some water and noise.
