This photo was taken in the late 1980's when Jay was hosting a Coot-builder's meeting at his home in Worthington, MN.  Note that his Coot is jacked up so he can demonstrate gear retraction.

Jay was feeling very happy and proud that day, not aware that he would soon be slowed by illness.
