This
is such a good example of fine Coot wing construction, that I used
it to illustrate the Coot Construction Gallery overview. Look
closely to see that the vertical spuce stiffeners have
been
glued in place. These clamp rows reveal doubler caps glued onto
the tops of the diagonal ribs, a tiny weight penalty for extra peace
of mind when step-taxiing on windy lakes. Note there are no
fore-and-aft ribs here, as used by most Canadian and west-coast builders.
