The
following summer N431PH was sold at auction for $10,000. under its value
to a farmer who
did not have a licence to fly, and whose only real interest was in flying an ultra-light aircraft.
Another
year passed.
One
day Bruce Buksyk (see above) and I discovered Percy's Coot, rusting
among the weeds.
It
remained there for another 11 years, after which the owner died and
his son sold it to the auctioneer.
Percy didn't spend all that time for this to happen to his Coot. May widows beware of auctions!
