One rarely sees simple Coot panels like this any more! Most Coot-builders install a large
panel "overlay", which projects the instruments closer to the pilot and provides a sun shade.
The problem with this idea is that one feels obliged to fill up this vast space with everything
from a glass panel to a water thermometer or a fish-finder! Molt had more than enough here.
Note the aluminum sheet on the left floorboard, to protect it against his heels, the mike cord
and the rudder pedals mounted on the front of the station 40 bulkhead.
