Encouraged by Flight Service that the fog was thinner on the mainland, we flew across Green Bay and refueled at Manistique before continuing on to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. We landed right on the

St. Mary's River among huge oil tankers and taxied up a large ramp to tie down here for the night. Docent Stew Farmer, a Coot-builder, gave us a local tour, supper and comfortable accommodations.
