
Shown nicely here is the increased vertical fin surface area provided by the Hirsekorn F/G tail fairing. There is a second ventral piece that encircles the water rudder and mates to this upper part.
There is some weight penalty from all this heavy F/G material, especially that which overlaps the tail boom all the way to the rudder. Thus, the builder with an aft CG problem should not use this.
